My office desk has become something of a dumping ground lately – and I am sure that it happens to all of us. Room 4 Interiors got in touch to ask if I would like to take part in a challenge to transform my desk for £20. They gave me £20 and left me to it.
The before
The before photograph is so embarrassing, but unfortunately it is a true reflection of what my desk had turned into. A cluttered dumping ground that didn’t even have space for my laptop. Sure, working from the sofa is fun, but I don’t find it as productive as working at my desk. Yes, that is a hair dryer.
After
I tried to put the £20 to good use – and I love how clear and functional my desk area is once again.

The finished desk

Pink paper – making everything lovely

Colourful pens and Sharpies

This isn’t new – this was a bath gift set from years ago – it makes a perfect paper holder for my desk.

A new mouse mat with wrist support
So much better!
The first step was to de-clutter my desk – throwing away or filing away paperwork as well as getting rid of items that didn’t belong there. Once that was done, it was time to spend the £20 given to me.
As I was short on time to go shopping, I ordered everything I wanted from Amazon using Prime. I also went looking through things I already owned to re-purpose them for the desk.
New items:
- 12 Sharpies
- 20 coloured pens
- Black pens
- Pink notepaper
- Coloured paper clips
- Wrist support cat mouse pad (there are loads of other cute designs available)
Re-purposed items:
- The glass heart shaped bowl was from our wedding sweet table.
- The tin holding the pens is from Target, I had tons left over from a previous trip to America.
As you can see, I’ve gone for lots of colour and space whilst also having my essentials close to me. I absolutely love my revamped desk and it has motivated me to get writing a lot more blog posts. The pink paper in particular is very “me” and I love making colourful lists.
Vote for me
If you are impressed by my blogger desk revamp then you can vote for me by retweeting this tweet before 13th September. The prize, if I win, is a £15 voucher to spend at Chroma Stationery on my own personalised blogger notebooks, a Dog and Pen paperweight from Qwerkity and a Terrific Weekly Desk Planner for all important blog planning.

Oh fantastic! I could do with a new mousemat – currently using a tea towel!
I also love your colour-coded to do list – I love a bit of colour coding myself.
