eBay Free Listing Trick

At the moment, eBay seem to be having their free listing weekends every fortnight. This is great for me – the routine goes weekend 1 = listing, weekend 2 = parcelling, weekend 3 = listing, etc. But the problem is that I go full force on free listing weekends, and I like to have over 100 items listed. There’s no doing things halfway for me. I then discovered photographing my items beforehand, writing descriptions on Word, weighing them to calculate postage, uploading my photographs, then come free listing I’d just transfer them across…which still took time, but didn’t take up the entire weekend.

This weekend, I’ve discovered something even greater. eBay allow you to schedule your listings for up to 3 weeks in advance. This costs 6p plus your normal listing price. So on Wednesday I listed something for 3 weeks away and was told what the price would be and confirmed my listing. I then checked my account and I hadn’t been charged the listing fee yet – I’d be charged 3 weeks later when my item was actually listed.

Then today I went to view my scheduled listings, edited this one and found that I was then charge a massive £0.00 – as today was free listing! This enabled me to get 153 items prepared in the lead up to free listing and just have to click 3 buttons (edit, change scheduled start time to immediately and click revise) and I was done! No copying and pasting descriptions, finding image links or having to copy the postage across. Sure, I’d already done the hard work in creating the listings, but there was no rush as I had time to prepare.

This is great. This is going to enable me to pretty much start from tomorrow getting items ready for the next free eBay listing weekend. There might be a problem is the next weekend is more than 3 weeks away, but I assume you can change the scheduled date for up to another 3 weeks.
