AQA 63336 – A Working From Home Opportunity

Finding opportunities to work from home can be hard – most of the time anything you see advertised is either a scam (e.g. pay us £200 to get you started) or is some kind of pyramid scheme. Although they provide great flexibility, working from home opportunities are hard to come by. That’s why I want to share my experiences with 63336 (formerly Any Question Answered) with you.

63336 is a text service who a service user can text any question to. Questions can be anything, including why men have nipples, lottery results, X-Factor results or if Ben really loves you. The service then sends an answer back and charges £1.50 for the privilege. As an employee of 63336, you can work as an ‘Internet Researcher’ and you would be expected to answer the questions using a web based application.

I worked for 63336 around 2006-2008 when it was known as Any Question Answered, so some of my knowledge on this topic will be outdated, but I still believe it to be a viable income opportunity.

If you’re interested in working for 63336 then the first thing you need to do is find a vacancy. The phrase “needle in a haystack” comes to mind. 63336 publish vacancies on their site and you need to be checking the website regularly. The moment you see a vacancy you should e-mail them for the application pack – vacancies are not open long and some people have been waiting months to find a vacancy, so they close for applications quite quickly. The vacancies state that you need to have a degree to work for 63336, but I’m confident that if you’re either a student or an exceptional candidate then this won’t matter. At the time of my employment with 63336 I was a student.

Part of your application is to complete a test of roughly 10 questions provided. The test requires you to answer questions to the best of your ability, using Google and other search methods, noting down how long each question took. Don’t be afraid to be honest about the length of time questions take you – they’re looking for honesty and taking your time for a quality answer over providing a fast but poor quality service. If your application is successful then you will be able to start with 63336 during a qualifying period. This is where you will work together with your mentor to ensure that you’ve understood the training and are able to successfully answer questions. Once you’ve completed your training session and had your answers looked over by your mentor, you’ll be on your way! You will work to certain percentage targets where you will need to have a low “skip” rate on the questions you’ve looked at. This is all explained in your induction period. There’s also a database that picks up on key words, so for example, if someone wants that evening’s Lottery results, chances are they’re already there with no research required!

You work on a self-employed basis which means that you need to register with HMRC within three months of starting to work for 63336. This means you will need to pay your own National Insurance contributions, complete your own tax return and pay any applicable tax.

Your earning potentials can be endless. You earn 30p per question, which means to start with you’ll be earning less than minimum wage, but you’re likely to end up with a wage of £6-£8 per hour, although obviously there are variables that affect this. For instance, getting up and showered ready to work at 9am on a Monday morning means there won’t be many questions available, whereas nights, especially weekend nights are much busier. I once earned a massive £60 for one hour’s work when the X-Factor results were announced – everyone wanted to know who’d won. That equates to having answered 200 questions about the X-Factor winner…a lot of work, but since then I’ve never earned £60 per hour, with or without 63336.
