Running a car is expensive, and a large part of that expense can come from the annual MOT. I hate to say it, but I have also felt that being female means I get treated as though I know nothing about cars – and quoted a price accordingly. I dread MOT time – I have had good times, such as budgeting £500 for the MOT, then my car passing with just the test fee, and bad times, such as my car being no longer economical to repair in order to pass its MOT.
Thankfully, there are a few things you can do before sending your car in for its MOT – The Essential Pre-MOT checklist, created by Motorparks, helps you to get your car in tip top condition to pass the MOT. My favourite is the 20p coin trick to test your tyre wear and tear. The tips are easy to follow and shouldn’t take you more than 30 minutes to complete.
