Cloud Crowd

Total made: £27.66/£280 (need to take postage for one book off this tomorrow)

Hi everyone, I am around, I promise! The stark realisation that I won’t have many pennies for spending in Florida has meant that I’m now in a very productive mode and I’ve spent my weekend doing lots of odd jobs to hopefully earn me a few more pennies. I had to turn down two babysitting jobs for this weekend but they were impossible for me to do. I’m hoping that because I’ve been asked twice for one weekend that babysitting season is going to kick off for me again soon.

Today’s latest discovery is Cloud Crowd. It’s simple – you need a Facebook account to find work and you need a Paypal account to receive payment. After you’ve signed up you’re taken to the Facebook application where you can find work. Jobs include translation work, writing and editing, searching and much more. I tested this out with the task of singing a song, and yes, I felt totally ridiculous.

The instructions are simple to understand and thorough, so off I went. In total it took me 24 minutes to finish the job which involved finding a song to sing from their list, finding lyrics and a link to the original artist singing the song, recording the song and submitting the song. It took me so long because I stupidly chose a rap song to begin with so I wasted about 15 minutes trying to rap. The things I’ll do for money!

Once I had finished that job and submitted it I quickly checked my Facebook profile to find that there was no trace of me singing the song on my profile, thank goodness!

To unlock any further jobs, such as translation and editing you’ll have to carry out a simple test to see if you’re capable of the task. These tests can be quite time consuming – editing takes around 15 minutes, writing an article takes around 30 minutes, but once you receive credentials for these then you’re able to unlock more of these jobs.

I can’t really offer much more about it just yet as I’ve only started. I found out about it from MSE, where else, and others have been paid. I will, of course, keep you updated!

I’m currently playing free bingo, resizing eBay photos, typing up descriptions and checking Cloud Crowd to see if my work has been accepted. Nothing like full steam ahead!
